Vote!

The time has arrived to select my official author photo and guess what?

My family is split on the opinion, so are my agents. I have yet to run the pics by my editor, but will be doing so very soon.

In the mean time I'd love to hear what you have to say. What photograph should become my author photo? I'd also like to thank the amazing Gina Monroe for her spectacular photography skills - I wonder where she gets that from (ahem...Ed?). Gina, you rock!

If you don't already know who Kiersten White is and that's she's awesome, go read her blog. Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I'm snatching Kiersten's idea of having blog readers vote for her jacket photo.

Thanks for helping me with this decision!!

  1. Three definitely. You look so happy! :)

  2. Three has it all: smile, teeth, dash of sexiness leavened by the innocence of swingset. That's my vote!

  3. I like them all, but 5 is my favorite!

  4. I love all of them! 1, 3 and 5 are my favorites, all for different reasons. If I had to choose (so glad it's not up to me!), I'd probably go with 5.

  5. Hard choice. They are all good, so none would be a mistake. I love the way the light picks up your hair color in #1 but I think #5 maybe most like a bookjacket photo. I sure hope your editor can help, because you seem to be getting votes all over the place.

  6. Number 1 is solid, great smile and your hair fills the frame.

But consider number 2 with it cropped just below the wrist/above the neckline. (Make the length of your neck and chest approximately the same length as your face.)If you cut out some of the white-heavy bottom of the pic, you've got a lovely composition. And very similar face to #1.

Even though #1 is endearing, #2 just says more with the chain and a little bit of more of you. I love to help with pix, one of the really fun parts of Tenners.

  7. I really like five and three. Also, you really remind me of Lauren Ambrose.

  9. Thanks so much everyone for the great comments - yep, this decision is tough but your feedback is really helpful (and sweet!)

Shaun - when Six Feet Under was on I would literally get stopped once a week by people who'd say "you look just like that girl from Six Feet Under;" poor Lauren Ambrose, no one knew her name. If she were lucky they'd say "you look like Claire." Since the show's been off the air I haven't heard that in a while. I love her so thanks for the compliment!

  10. So pretty!

I like them all, but in this order with the first number being the one I like best:

    3, 2, 1, 5, 4

  11. Number 3! I love it when people smile with their eyes....

  12. I like #4 - it's unusual and beautiful and I love the wishing dandelions in the back. #5 is also really nice. Great shots!

  13. Really great pics! I like #3 the best. Looks like a natural smile. :-)

All the pictures are great, but my vote is for # 1.

  16. #3 and #5 and my favorites (in no particular order)! :)

  17. These all look beautiful!

Here's another vote for number three!

  18. They're all lovely; 3 and 5 are my favourites

  19. Number 1 and then number 2 in which you have a slightly more serious look, which I like, but only if it is cropped as someone earlier suggested.

  20. You have a great smile. I like the composition and facial expression in #5 the best. You look approachable but also serious. But, but, but #2 has the rocking glow on the hair! (I don't care for the compostion in #3. The swing chain is a little intrusive in the foreground and there are too may parallel lines cutting through the background. Yeah, yeah, I look at this stuff.)
