International Makeover

First of all HAPPY STAR WARS DAY and May the Fourth be with you :)

Exciting news from across the pond - my UK publishers Atom Books have just announced their cover redesign for Nightshade and Wolfsbane. Check out the lovely shininess!

I also was delighted to receive my first copy of the US paperback, which will be in stores on June 14.

It is sooooo pretty! The wolf seems to jump off the cover - so Calla! This summer is going to be so much fun and very, very busy :) I can't wait!

Wishing you all a great week.

Pub Date Across the Pond!

Hooray!!! Nightshade is officially out in the UK today!

Thanks so much to the amazing team at Atom Books - I'm ecstatic that Nightshade is making friends in England, Scotland and beyond even as I write this message.

If you haven't yet checked out the UK Nightshade web site, you should as it is soooo very pretty.

Since it's very, very wintry from Minnesota to New York to London I thought this might be an appropriate song to celebrate the day. I hope you'll brave the elements to go pick up your own copy of Nightshade and give it a nice, cozy new home!

UK Blog Tour

Christmas is almost here - I can hardly believe it! We've just passed the Winter Solstice, which means each day brings us a little more sunlight - considering that this time of year in Minnesota it gets dark at 4 p.m. I find that thought more than a little bit comforting.

Exciting things afoot on the other side of the Atlantic. Atom Books has kicked off the countdown to Nightshade with a fabulous blog tour! You can read excerpts from the book and soon some awesome UK (and AU/NZ) blogs will feature interviews and guests post. There's also a contest to 'cast' Calla - and I can't wait to see who readers think would best portray her on screen.

You can also check out the Atom's fabulous Nightshade web site www.nightshadeseries.co.uk and download some gorgeous wallpaper.

Though the official release date of Nightshade in the UK isn't until December 28, I'm getting reports that copies have been sighted at WH Smiths and Waterstones. So if you're looking for a last minute Christmas gift? (hint, hint)

Merry Christmas and I hope Santa brings whatever you've been wishing for!!!

Nightshade Goes to London

No this isn't a repost of my UK book deal - though Atom Books has been posting some awesome tweets about Nightshade and Wolfsbane. UK publication doesn't happen until January 6, 2011 - but Nightshade is hopping across the pond next week for the London Book Fair.
I am pretending (while pining) that I also am going on this trip for four reasons:

1) I love London

2) I am convinced I would love book fairs and hope that with enough wishes to the Universe I'll eventually get to go to one.

3) I'm dying to meet my awesome UK editor Samantha, who is uber cool and so much fun

4) I love London (I know I already said that, but I really , really love it)I was already green with envy over Bologna, where there were awesome things like Kristin Cashore sword fighting.
and now Calla is going to London without me, but I'll think she'll do fine hunting down more foreign deals.
But I'd be fine spending my time swooning over these rows and rows of books. (Hey look, there's Penguin! Hi Penguin!!)
I mean it's at frickin' Earl's Court! Earl's Court is where they have Lady Gaga's concerts - it's that big.

Sigh.

Maybe Calla will bring me a souvenir.
No. Not that please.

Ben Barnes AND Robert Pattinson? That's more like it! Good hunting, Calla!!

In Other News

While I'm living the life of NIGHTSHADE in Manhattan, things are stirring across the Atlantic. I've just received this press release from Samantha Smith, my amazing UK editor:

Atom Acquires Major New YA Paranormal Series

Atom, the young adult imprint of Little, Brown Book Group, has acquired a major new paranormal young adult series in a four-publisher auction from debut author Andrea Cremer in a two book deal.

Andrea Cremer was represented by Euan Thorneycroft at A.M. Heath on behalf of Richard Pine at InkWell Management. Atom will be publishing the first book in the series, Nightshade, in January 2011. It will be published in the US by Philomel (Penguin).

‘I'm thrilled that Nightshade is hopping across the pond to make its home at Atom! I can't wait for UK readers to meet the characters of this series, who I love so much, and I know we'll have an amazing journey together through Calla's world,’ says author Andrea Cremer.

Atom is planning a major print and online marketing campaign to launch this extraordinary series which follows one young werewolf Guardian, Calla, through a world of forbidden love, secret histories and the ties of destiny.

Samantha Smith, Editorial Director of Atom, says, ‘I stayed up all night reading this stunning manuscript and couldn’t wait to get in the office the next day to get everyone else reading it too. It’s an absolutely extraordinary novel with real crossover appeal, combining elements of Twilight and Shiver but with a wonderfully dark vibe, a fantastic mythology and compulsive storytelling.’

Nightshade will join an impressive 2011 line-up from Atom, including new titles from bestselling authors P.C. and Kristin Cast, Melissa de la Cruz, Kelley Armstrong and Sherrilyn Kenyon.

London Calling

The weather outside is frightful - we'll have a foot of snow by morning, but I can't be bothered to care because...

NIGHTSHADE and WOLFSBANE sold in the UK!!!
I am ecstatic to share the news that my novels' British home will be with the fabulous team at Atom (Little Brown). Atom is the publisher of both the Twilight and House of Night series *happy dancing now ensues* and I am thrilled to be working with such a fantastic house.

Those of you who've followed this blog for a while know that Great Britain is something of a second home to me, so this sale makes my heart sparkle. And to all my friends across the pond, I'm so pleased that NIGHTSHADE will be in your local bookstores!!
