Scoop!

Some of you may have been surprised to see the Bloodrose cover appear on some blogs lately. I was surprised, too! So was Penguin!

The cover wasn't supposed to be revealed until July but through a computer glitch it was sent early to Amazon, so of course Amazon put it up. And I am seriously impressed by how quickly Nightshade fans found the cover! You guys are so on top of stuff!! It's fabulous!

This wasn't anyone's fault and I'm not upset - maybe a little disappointed as revealing a cover is super fun. Now it's a little like finding out a surprise party is being thrown for you. It's wonderful that the party is happening and so many people went to the trouble to plan it, but now the surprise is spoiled.

Surprise or no, the Bloodrose cover is stupendous and I'm thrilled that I can now officially post it here!

The cover depicts a very specific scene in the book and I love the way the photo captures that moment!

In addition to the cover reveal, I have some AMAZING news. Since the Nightshade series' covers have been redesigned Penguin knows that many of you would like to have a matching set for the series. So they've printed a limited number of the new Nightshade jackets that you can put on your hardcover and all your books will match!

The jackets are being mailed out on a first come, first served basis. Send your request, including your mailing address to yrmarketing@us.penguingroup.com

I'm sorry to international readers but this is a US only offer since it regards the US cover redesign

Please note: the jackets are being shipped by Penguin, so don't email your request to me as it won't get to the right people.

  1. I was wondering why there was no buzz surrounding the Bloodrose cover reveal! It all makes sense now :)

I've sent an email but I'm not sure if they'll send the jacket to Canadian residents. I'll keep my fingers crossed! It's very thoughtful of Penguin to do this!

  14. I LOVE the cover of Bloodrose! I am so excited to read it and find out what scene the book's cover is based on. But first I can't wait to read Wolfsbane! I wish it was July already! And thanks to Penguin too! I hope I'm early enough to get on of those beautiful jackets!

  15. Hi Andrea,
I found the cover early Monday morning on Goodreads and posted it to my blog. I am sorry that I added to the confusion.

It is a beautiful cover and made me even more excited to read the book. Combined with Lisa D's description on Goodreads - I felt tortured that I couldn't have it right then. ;)

Thanks to you and Penguin for being so nice about it and for the awesome new book jackets. I am glad I can having a matching set of books now. (If I sent my email in time anyway.)

  16. I'm not a big fan of these covers, but I do like all my covers to match, even though I have an ARC of Wolfsbane with the old beautiful cover on there. BLoodrose will still not be matching since they will be using the new covers. I would love to see/wonder what Bloodrose would have looked liked if they used the orginal cover though. *disappointment*

This is really nice of penguin though and I can't wait to read Bloodrose b/c Woman, you sure as hell can write an ending of a book. WOW. STill breathless after Wolfsbane =DDDDDDD

That's so thoughtful of Penguin. I just sent my email to them; I hope I'm not too late! =)

  18. OOOOOOH, though I'm a fan of the old covers, I must say that Bloodrose s my favorite of the 3. And that's so sweet of Penguin to think of the readers with the old cover. I'm sorry your "surprise" was ruined, but the cover is stunning. Congrats! :)

  21. Congrats on the new cover...it's gorgeous!

  22. I agree with Mariya...and a lot of the uproar a few months ago was that us fans wanted the covers to match the beautiful, original Nightshade and Wolfsbane covers...not the other way around. I'm super disappointed in the covers, but I love your books. Since mine will no longer match in the way I want them to match, I'll have to give up my hardback of Nightshade and just buy all three on Kindle where the covers aren't as important.

  23. I'm very impressed by Penguin's decision to print the new jackets! Also, love the Bloodrose cover -- can't wait for February!

  24. I LOVE the cover! It's my favorite of the new, redesigned versions. I sent my email too, so my fingers (and toes) are crossed that I can get one of the dust jackets. Thanks for letting us know about them :)

  25. Sent my e-mail about twenty minutes ago... I so hope this offer hasn't run out! Do you know how many they printed?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm not certain of the exact number, but I'll post when they've hit the limit. Thanks!

  27. Hmmm.... I sent the email and got an automated response from Gmail saying that it can't go through... Is that the right email? If so, maybe it is a network thing.

  28. The cover of Bloodrose looks amazing! I don't think I can wait that long for it to come out. :) I think that's really awesome what Penguin is doing.

  29. Hi Britta, The email is yrmarketing@us.penguingroup.com check to be sure you spelling, dot placement is correct :)

  30. I had just clicked on the link in the post that brought me directly to gmail. So I know it wasn't the spelling. Odd, it seems to only be happening to me. It tried for a couple of days to resend it and I kept getting automated emails saying it couldn't go through. I will try again tonight.

    Thanks,
    Britta

  31. Do you know of any way for Canadian residents to get the new covers??
I'd ask for my cousin to ship it over, but he's in the process of moving and I don't have an address for him =(

  32. Hi Siren,

These covers were printed by Penguin US, you'll need to contact Penguin in Canada to see about covers in their market. Thanks!

  33. I wish Penguin would send us the covers for the original Wolfsbane covers since the originals are SO SO SO MUCH BETTER!!! I hate the new covers! Bloodrose cover is not that bad but the other two are cheesy and cliché. I wonder why they would decide to change the covers when Nighshade was probably one of my favorite book covers. It must have to do with money, usually always does. I will not be buying Wolfsbane book cause I HATE the cover that much. Instead I will be buying it for my Kindle. I would even buy the original theme book covers or even the books if they sold them. Please consider somehow letting us have both options since I had no luck winning an arc. Looking forward to Wolfsbane!

  34. I love the cover! I love the color too. And, thanks for the fantastic news for the Nightshade cover. If I'm early enough and get one, my original cover will be a collector's item! Too bad I didn't have you sign it at the Breathless Reads tour. ;)

  35. I hate the new covers SO MUCH!
I got excited seeing your post, hoping that they were going to redesign Bloodrose also. This is so disappointing.

  36. Did they run out of covers?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Rideread - I haven't heard that they're out yet. It's worth sending an email to request one :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. so will these being sent out like when the Nightshade hardcover comes out b/c I haven't heard anything and I was one of the few that sent in a request right away?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hey Mariya,

Penguin said they were going to collect the requests and ship them all at once and they thought it would take up to a month to get it done. I'll check for a status update :)

  40. Hey Andrea,
